Crackling Firewood Fragrance Oil Review

Posted by andrew sanderson on

We already had fireplace fragrance oil which sells well year round but we wanted another fragrance oil which was a wood fire but not too strong on the smoke. Crackling firewood fragrance oil is perfect. Here are the fragrance notes:

Top notes of eucalyptus leaves, velvet plums and Virginian cedar followed by mid notes of  tonka, cinnamon and embers, rounded off with base notes of vanilla, sandalwood and golden amber

From the fragrance notes it looks like crackling firewood might be similar to sandalwood & vanilla  but it isn’t, it is very different. Sandalwood & vanilla is not as rounded as crackling firewood with the main notes being the sandalwood. Crackling firewood is burning wood like fireplace but without the smoke, no spices and none of the  foliage notes.

When crackling firewood wax melt starts to melt it smells like cedar wood, balanced by the Eucalyptus, softened and rounded by the plums. The tonka adds subtle tobacco, woody, herbaceous notes with a touch a vanilla softness in a subtle way. The ember notes blend in well but are not noticeably smokey as an individual note. The base note that is most prominent is the sandalwood. This is softened by the vanilla and amber but this is not a vanilla fragrance. If you want a wood fire smell then give crackling firewood fragrance oil a try.
