Baby It's Warm Outside Fragrance Oil Review

Posted by andrew sanderson on

We have described a lot of our fragrance oils in our own words in our reviews. If there is one you want us to describe please ask. I was wondering which fragrance oil to pick to describe next when I saw baby its warm outside.  I thought it was so perfect for the current hot weather we are having so I just had to do this one. This fragrance oil is popular at Christmas in countries which have their summer at Christmas which is why we chose the tropical photo with Christmas hats. Here are the fragrance notes:

Top notes of shredded coconut, sun ripened coconut and kaffir lime. Mid notes of Jamaican rum accord and coconut milk and base notes of maraschino cherry, rhubarb and sugared vanilla.

We add 8g of oil to 100g of soy 494 then melt a 7.5g piece. We test in our home as most of you sell your products to be used in a home environment. Our lounge is quite a good size and is open plan to the study, hall stairs and landing. As soon as the wax starts to melt its reminiscent of pina colada. I forgot to close the dining room door and could smell it in there shortly after lighting. I should have used a new tealight but didn’t. Look how little of the 7.5g piece of wax had melted and I could smell it in the next room!

This a powerful fragrance! I put another tealight under the burner and left the wax to melt. As this wax melts the fragrance is fruity, coconut and zesty lime. It smells to me like it has pineapple in; it could have, there are so many components they are not all listed in the fragrance notes. Once this has fully melted it is powerful without being overpowering. This smell is fresh and zingy and immediately transports me back to a Caribbean beach holiday. This is so much more than Pina Colada, much more mouth watering lime. I couldn’t pick out the rum or the maraschino cherry as individual notes. It was more overall fruit than rhubarb. The vanilla gives smooth base notes, it is not cloying or overly sweet.

We didn’t let the tealight burn down fully as we wanted to test another melt later in the day. We opened the windows but eight hours later the fragrance is still strong in the living room, too strong to test another fragrance.

If you want tropical holiday vibes, this is the fragrance for you. If you like this fragrance try coconut lime verbena. This is different enough to have both. It reminds me more of sun lotion and sun kissed skin.

Other tropical themed fragrance oils are tropical, tropical sun, birds or paradise and tropical jungle. Tropical jungle has a fresh green edge whereas the others are more fruity.

Baby its warm outside can be used in room sprays in accordance with IFRA 49. For other uses see the IFRA document on the fragrance oil listing.
