Mint Breeze Fragrance Oil Review

Posted by andrew sanderson on

We asked for some herbal, botanical type fragrance oils that were not currently available in the UK and mint breeze was one of the samples we tested.  We loved it so we now stock it.

Here are the fragrance notes:

Top notes of crisp bergamot, iced pineapple, arctic mint followed by mid notes of blue lavender, winter jasmine and coconut finishing with base notes of sandalwood, benzoin resin, tonka, amber, vanilla and crystal musk.

We added 8g of oil to 100g Golden wax soy 494 then melted a 7.5g piece of the wax melt in an open plan room.

As soon as this fragrance starts to melt there is a lovely fresh mint aroma. This mint fragrance oil is different to anything we have tried before. It is fresh and cool  with a hint of vanilla and rounded with a hint of sweetness but it is not too sweet that it takes the edge off the freshness. Although there is a hint of sweetness, this is not a sweet shop fragrance nor does it smell of toothpaste.  Think more cocktail - one of our customers described this fragrance oil as being like a mojito - mint with zesty notes. As this wax melt continues to warm the fragrance really builds up in intensity. The bergamot gives it freshness. It is a complex fragrance with lots of notes but the citrus doesn’t dominate. There is no mistaking that this is a mint based scent.  There are hints of fruit but we wouldn’t say the pineapple is obvious as a fragrance note, the top notes are very well blended and balanced. We can’t pick out any floral mid notes and the coconut doesn’t dominate but there is a hint of coconut in there. You might not notice it in amongst the other notes as it is subtle. We couldn’t pick out the individual base notes but they blend together to support the fresh mint notes, providing a smoothness and balance, giving strength and dimension without detracting from the mint. Usually the mid notes are the star of the show, the heart of the fragrance but the stars of this fragrance are mint and vanilla. This fragrance oil is a mint lovers dream and fits in perfectly with any herbal collection.

After half an hour on the warmer the scent was very strong, powerful but not overpowering, it is still pleasant. It gives you a cool feeling, the feeling you get when breathing in or eating some menthol or eucalyptus. This scent reached the second floor of our house so it is much more pungent than our softer fragrance snowman. Eucalyptus and spearmint is also very strong but is very different to mint breeze, different enough to have both.

We melted mint breeze very early one morning in our home and the fragrance was still in the room over twelve hours later.  This is a versatile fragrance for year round use. It is useful for freshening up food odours after cooking.

Our other minty fragrances are eucalyptus & spearmint, snowman and frosted hot cocoa / after dinner mint
