Sandalwood And Black Pepper Fragrance Oil Review
Posted by andrew sanderson on
Here are the fragrance notes :
Top notes of honeysuckle and geranium, mid notes of black pepper, tonka bean and rosewood, finishing with base notes of creamy sandalwood, whitewoods, musk and vetiver
We decided to review this fragrance oil as it is so much nicer than the version that we were buying before we started importing fragrance oils and are excited to share it with you.
The way that the layers of fragrance blend together give an amazingly smooth fragrance.
The notes mention honeysuckle and geranium but these are very much in the background. We can detect a hint of floral but the woody / spicey notes are the main stars. It would be easy to miss the florals if you are not aware that they are there when the melt is first heated up.
The pepper brings a warmth and spice to the fragrance while the sandalwood, tonka bean and musk provide a creamy smoothness with woody vanilla notes. The vetiver adds a touch of earthiness and ties the spice and wood notes together. As the fragrance warms up the rosewood mixes with the florals to give them a leg up but the spice and wood remain at the forefront.
This is the sort of fragrance that you expect from luxury mens shaving soap. It works well as a background fragrance and would work well at a dinner party as it wouldn't clash with the food.
