Mandala Essential Oil Review

Posted by andrew sanderson on

Here is our fragrance review of Mandala essential oil

We added 6g of essential oil to 100g of soy wax to make the wax melts. We then melted a 7g piece of wax melt in a large open plan room. We did try making the melts stronger but the fragrance that the higher percentage essential oil wax melts released was overpowering. Our testers reported the same so we now use 6g of essential oil per 100g of wax to make our wax melts. This fragrance filled two floors of our home with strong scent. You could try using 5g of oil to 100g of wax, it would be more than strong enough.

As the wax starts to melt there is a lovely rounded, deep woody fragrance balanced by hints of fresh citrus. As the wax melt continues to warm the rest of the fragrance notes are released.  This is a complex fragrance which is slightly floral, very lavender like with a hint of sweetness, slightly earthy and musky. A large amount of the oil in this blend comes from the essential oils found in bergamot and lavender and other essential oils which are calming, relaxing and help with relaxation, reducing anxiety and promoting sleep. Our testers could smell neroli, that would be the ocimene as it has a smell similar to that of neroli and this blend contains 5% ocimene. We thought the lavender notes were more prominent. The patchouli gives the blend its deep woody notes. Patchouli is great for relaxation, easing stress and anxiety.

We would describe this as a deep, rich, woody fragrance but fresh with lavender and neroli like floral notes. This essential oil is relaxing and calming, perfect to help you unwind when you feel tense.

You can see from the SDS that our blends are made from component parts extracted from essential oils rather than just blending two or more essential oils. We wanted a more complex fragrance, think of the essential oil collection as a fragrance oil made with natural components rather than synthetic. Heres a link to our blog explaining our essential oils

We wanted essential oil blends that would be suitable for wax, room sprays, reed diffusers, mist diffusers, cold process soap and a range of bath & body products. We worked with industry specialists to create five blends to our specifications. These have been tested by bath and body product makers, by ourselves and other wax makers as home fragrance products. The price of essential oils vary depending on the type of oil and quality. We have brought you top quality oils. A little essential oil goes a long way. The 10ml bottle is ideal as a tester or for dropping into mist diffusers, the 60ml is better value for making products. For 500g or more, contact us for prices.

We are currently offering five bottles of essential oil for the price of four.

The CLP templates provided are for making in a non hazardous base, formulators alcohol and Augeo Clean Multi. They are for a lower percentage concentrations than for our fragrance oils due to the high concentration of the oil, please note the maximum percentage that these CLP cover.
